Brean Down
If you live around Bristol, I thoroughly recommend
you go to Brean Down, a promontory south of
Weston-Super-Mare. Not only is the walk along the
thin tongue of land particularly beautiful – complete
with longhorn cattle and daredevil goats – but at the
tip there’s a fort, and it’s a boy’s dreamworld
of nooks, crannies, places to explore. Yes, it’s
a relic of war, and war is bad etc, but it’s
like clambering round a Bond villain’s lair.

’Mato Masterpiece
Jenny was given a tomato plant by her friend and
colleague Angela, and we’ve been keeping an eye on it
since it flowered a few weeks ago. The first fruit
showed, swelled and then just sat there for days and
days, but then finally went the most beautiful deep
red. And so, today, in celebration, we picked it and
made The Best Bruschetta™ the world has ever
seen/tasted. (It was accompanied by her Phenomenal
Potato Salad®, mozzarella, pesto, antipasti and more.
Yes, yes it was awesome.)
